WHERE ARE WE GOING?

I've done this before: I was parked close to the South entrance at church, and I needed to get out and get where I've going in a hurry. So, instead of going all the way through the parking lot to where it's marked "School Exit" I just headed over to the side marked "School Entrance" and tried to get out as quickly as possible. Nothing is more fun than me getting to that entrance trying to get out at about the same time one of these cars on State Road 51 gets there trying to get in! Normally there's enough room for both of us, but I'm in their way, because I just got right in the middle of the driveway. They have to swerve off of the hard road into the yard to get onto the property, and they look at me like I'm a real winner! If it wasn't a Christian school they'd probably be tempted to give me sign language for "you're number one!" All I can do is wave and grin like an idiot! "I'm the pastor of this church with an awesome Christian School, but I can't read! Sorry!"

The last time I was waiting to get out at the entrance, this profound thought hit me: It doesn't matter if you've made plans or not. It doesn't matter if you feel like your life has direction or not. Whether you're using GPS, a compass, a paper map, licking your finger and sticking it in the wind, or just sleeping in the back of the vehicle on its way to "anywhere but here" - you are always moving, your life is always heading somewhere . You are going in some direction!

Lack of direction doesn't mean you're not going somewhere, lack of direction probably means the wrong destination!
How can you get your life going in the right direction? Follow Jesus!

Jesus Says, "Follow Me"
Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Luke 14:27 And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Jesus Knows Where He's Going
Let us go... to the nearby villages — so I can preach there also... (Mark 1:38)

Let us go over to the other side... (Mark 4:35)

Let us go back to Judea. (John 11:7)

Jesus Always Gets You Where You Need to Be
One of those times Jesus said, "let's go over to the other side," the enemy tried to stop him. A squall rose up in the middle of the lake and the boat almost sank. Jesus rebuked the wind and waves and got his followers safely to the other side. If you follow Jesus, he will always get you where you need to be!
